Famous Eleanors
About Us
One of Huntsville's Most Unique Dining Experiences
Famous Eleanors delivers elevated pub fare alongside refreshing beverages served by Rocket Republic Brewery. As ChurchStreet Family’s newest restaurant, Famous Eleanors pays tribute to some of history’s famous Eleanors, and most importantly Matt’s grandmother, Eleanor Kenny.
Here are just some of the famous Eleanors that inspired us to create our Famous Eleanors:
- Without Eleanor Kenny, this restaurant wouldn’t be possible. A bold, classy lady, Eleanor was one of New Jersey’s best nurses, but we might be a little biased.
- One of America’s most famous first ladies, Eleanor Roosevelt helped initiate the U.S. Army's African-American pilot program and fought for women’s rights all over the world.
- Eleanor F. Helin, better known as “Glo”, was an American astronomer and principal investigator for the Near Earth Asteroid Tracking program who pioneered methods NASA still uses today. Pretty NEAT, right?
- A seamstress best known for working on the Apollo 11 mission, Ellie Foraker helped create an airbag system used to land the Sojourner Rover on Mars.
- With aspirations of becoming an astronaut, Eleanor Sigrest was only 13 when she won the sixth annual Broadcom MASTERS middle school STEM competition. Her research on cold gas rocket nozzles might just give NASA engineers a reason to reevaluate their methods.
Thanks for checking us out. We look forward to serving you!
