SUMMARY:Meet the Artist - ChurchStreet Wine Shoppe Downtown
DESCRIPTION:Come meet Kitty\,  a local contemporary Impressionist artist who began her artistic journey after retiring from a thirty-three-year career as a federal employee.   Inspired by nature\, she immediately fell in love with oil painting and began spending many hours behind the canvas honing her natural abilities. She has taken workshops with master artists locally as well as all over the country while developing her own unique style. Kitty recently returned from a workshop in Taos\, New Mexico taking from Master Artist\, Kevin MacPherson\, who has authored several books\, videos and hosted a PBS art show.  \nKitty is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Club\, Huntsville Du Midi chapter and has served as a Co-Chair of the Arts & Culture committee. She is also a member of the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild where she has chaired the Spring Awards Luncheon for the past two consecutive years.  She has donated many of her paintings to local charity auctions such as Make a Wish Foundation\, Huntsville Museum of Art Guild auction\, Hudson Alfa Tie a Ribbon fundraiser\, and many others.  Kitty is also an active member of the Alabama Plein Air Artists and American Impressionists Society. \nShe has shown her art at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens\, the Monte Sano Arts Festival\, the Carnegie Visual Art Center\, Lowe Mill\, as well as other local retail locations.  Awarded the Boldbrush Award for her seascape painting in 2022\, we are honored to feature her work at the Shoppe!  \n  \n
